Social Spin Tutoring & Mentoring is a non-profit organization founded in 2021 during the COVID Pandemic committed to providing the educational and social support to the youth of Illinois addressing students of all ages. We create programs to improve the well-being of the youth by providing role models that can support them academically and socially. Volunteers are matched individually or in small groups to develop a trusting relationship and to engage in structured activities, often but not limited to classroom or homework-related topics.

We strive to focus our attention on students of marginalized households. Two-thirds of minority students still attend schools that are predominantly minority, most of them located in central cities. Educational resources do make a difference, particularly when funds are used to purchase well-qualified teachers and high-quality curriculum with personalized learning communities. While marginalized households are funded well below those in neighboring suburban districts.
