FOUNDER

Winona Scott-Hannah is the creator and proprietor of Social Spin Tutor Mentors, a 501c(3) non-profit organization that focuses on the holistic well-being of Illinois adolescents.  Several organizations in Illinois offer tutoring and mentorship, but our objective is to assist youth from marginalized households.

 

Winona has worked as an educator in numerous Illinois public school systems for over 25 years; she is currently a  Program Director for the Illinois Higher Education system. Winona matriculated from Chicago State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Science in Technology and Performance Management Studies.

TUTOR 

Brianna is a graduate student of SIUE pursued her passion of higher education administration in 2019 by gaining a role as a Career Advisor at Baylor College of Medicine. There she was able to support and mentor students on career and professional development allowing them to reach their highest potential.

Leedra is a Software Engineer with experience working in the Defense industry as well as Consulting. She has always volunteered with the youth in different capacities such as mentorship, tutoring, career readiness workshops, resume writing and mock interviews.

Tyara earned her BS in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University and Master’s in Public Administration from Governor’s State University. Currently employed with ICON Clinical Research as a Clinical Development Consultant, she has over 10 years’ experience in clinical research. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering her time, reading and shopping. Tyara resides in the Chatham neighborhood in Chicago with her four-year-old daughter

Kerri is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and have over 20 years of experience.  She obtained her BA degree from Governors State University, and her MA degree from National Louis University. She is currently the Manager of Respiratory Care & Pulmonary services at a north side trauma hospital in Chicago.

MENTOR

Paulette have been a School Social Worker for 22 years. Prior to being a School Social Worker she worked in foster care for five years. She is a proud graduate from Hyde Park Career Academy, Illinois State University where she received my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Schools.

MENTOR

Sean comes to us with an extensive background in both religious and secular contexts.  Sean has a BS degree in business administration, Masters in human services and counseling and have completed doctoral classes in professional identity, advance counseling theories and advance teaching in psychology and counseling education. Sean has worked for River Edge and Norwegian hospitals, County and Illinicare, Department of Children and family Services (DCFS) and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and Envision Unlimited. Sean has authored two books Unfinished Business, The Psychology of Becoming and his newly anticipated work, A Well Dressed Lie, Following the Breadcrumbs to an Uncomfortable Truth.

TUTOR - MENTOR

DeAnna is a founder, ICF Certified Coach, and mom of four. She received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and lives in the Chicagoland area. In 2020, she created Mom-Care Oasis after juggling work, family, and personal responsibilities led to an emotional breakdown. Now, she is passionate about showing busy moms that unapologetically prioritizing internal self-care is the key to managing your life well. Mom-Care Oasis supports professional moms through coaching, workshops, and wellness products. DeAnna loves teaching women: “I am my first priority, when I flourish, then I can water others.”
